    Subject: Perfect Pairings from the Plitt Company; Oysters and Wine! Date: Fri, 5 May 2006 12:26:26 -0700 If you’re looking for some expert guidance when it comes to pairing
    oysters with wine, then keep reading! Oyster-loving food and wine
    writers, restaurateurs and retailers convened in late April to select
    the
    ten winners of the 2006 Pacific Coast Oyster Wine Competition-- a
    popular
    annual “dating service” for West Coast wines and oysters.

    Over 1200 kumomoto oysters were consumed combined with sips of the West
    Coast’s finest wines to determine the winners.

    One Oregon and nine California white wines, including seven crisp
    Sauvignon Blancs, two bright, refreshing Pinot Gris and a dry Chenin
    Blanc
    prevailed over 154 entries in this year's Competition.

    The 10 finalists were:

    Kelson Creek Winery 05 Sauvignon Blanc (CA)

    Kenwood 05 Sonoma Sauvignon Blanc (CA)

    Kunde Estate Winery & Vineyards 05 Magnolia Lane Sauvignon Blanc (CA)

    Wattle Creek 04 Sauvignon Blanc (CA)

    Willamette Valley Vineyard 05 Pinot Gris (OR)
