    The answer is NO.

    Reasons:

    * commercial dish washer has much shorter cycle, the only advantage for commercial situation. At home, you do not need this.

    * commercial dish washer use much hotter water (almost steam), at home you do not need it. Many home units recently built in a hot water heater for the washer; so that you do not need to increase the hot water temperature of the whole house.

    * choose a good brand, so many are available, shop for the cheapest for what you need. Avoid as much as you can on fancy electronics. Consider how the water jets are distributed i.e. how many ejectors. Noise. Shelves (flexibility).

    * I put 2 dish washers in each of my main apartment: one for dishes and pots and the other for crystals, glasses and utencils.
This combo is very cheap to have and they out perform any commercial unit at home, for home use.

Commercial units use much more electricity, much more water, much more detergent since it rinses every 50 seconds. Good unit can finsh a "heavy cycle" in less than 4 minutes (as oppose to the usual 25 minutes).
